EFFICIENT LIGHTING FOR MODERN WAREHOUSES

Warehouses and logistics facilities require stable and uniform lighting throughout their operating hours. High racks, narrow aisles, picking areas and loading zones create different requirements for lighting and must be considered during the design stage.

Insufficient illuminance, glare and incorrect light distribution can reduce visual comfort, affect safety and slow down everyday operations.

NLT Trade designs warehouse lighting based on the geometry of the property, mounting heights, equipment layout and the nature of the work performed.

DIFFERENT ZONES — DIFFERENT LIGHTING NEEDS

High-Bay Warehouses

Directional light with high luminous efficiency and specialized optics for uniform illumination at significant mounting heights.

Mezzanines

Uniform illumination of multi-level areas, taking into account limited mounting heights and confined spaces.

Picking & Packing

Comfortable task lighting for accurate order picking, packaging and work with labels and product markings.

Loading Areas

Reliable illumination of receiving and dispatch zones for safe operation of staff and loading equipment during daily operations.

Different warehouse areas require an individual lighting approach. Mounting height, space configuration, the type of operations performed and the movement of equipment determine the requirements for illuminance and light distribution.

NLT Trade selects luminaires, power and optics for each individual area, providing the required visibility, comfort and efficient use of energy.

LIGHTING CALCULATED FOR WAREHOUSE GEOMETRY

For a warehouse, selecting luminaires only by power or luminous flux is not enough. The result depends on mounting height, aisle width, rack positions, reflective properties of surfaces and the type of work performed.

We carry out lighting calculations and select power, optics, luminaire positioning and quantities according to the specific layout of the property.

This approach provides the required illuminance exactly where it is needed and helps avoid both dark areas and excessive installed power.

EFFICIENCY WITHOUT UNNECESSARY COSTS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What illuminance levels are required for a warehouse?

The required illuminance depends on the purpose of the area and the operations performed. For main warehouse areas, a reference level may start from around 200 lx, while storage zones, rack aisles, picking, loading and workstations have different requirements. Lighting parameters are therefore determined individually during the design of each property.

For areas with high mounting heights, efficient industrial LED luminaires with optics designed to direct light into the working zone are used. Power and light distribution are selected according to the height and geometry of the warehouse.

In rack aisles, it is important to provide not only adequate floor illumination but also good visibility of vertical surfaces. Suitable light distribution is used, while luminaire positioning is calculated according to aisle width and rack height.

Yes. The existing system can be analyzed and outdated equipment replaced with modern LED luminaires while retaining existing mounting points and electrical infrastructure where possible. The specific solution is determined after analyzing the property.

Energy savings are achieved through efficient LED luminaires, correct power and optics selection, rational equipment placement and, where appropriate, lighting controls and sensors. The NLT Trade product range includes luminaires with efficiencies of up to 210 lm/W. Lighting calculations also help avoid excessive installed power.

The standard warranty for NLT Trade equipment is 5 years. For selected products, the warranty period can be up to 10 years.
